Job Overview: The Dillon Amphitheater Cleaning Crew plays a key role in keeping the Dillon Amphitheater clean, safe, and welcoming for guests, performers, and staff throughout the busy summer event season. This position supports concerts and special events by providing pre-event, during-event, and post-event cleaning services in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
Hours: This is a summer seasonal, part-time to full-time position with hours varying between 20 to 40 hours per week, beginning late May through late September. Must be available to work flexible shifts and job duties. Late nights and early mornings will be required, and both weekday and weekend work is available.
Reports To: Venue and Events Manager
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service to the public, event attendees, coworkers and partners at all times. This includes having professional interactions with customers, providing accurate information and having general knowledge of Town of Dillon events and happenings.
- Maintain cleanliness of venues before, during and after an event. Ensure all work areas and facilities are clean and safe for participants, guests and staff. This includes picking up, sorting, and moving trash and recycling; and cleaning up bathrooms, portable toilets, and other messes.
- Clean and restock restrooms and handwashing stations.
- Sweep, mop and pressure wash hard surfaces as needed.
- Assist with event setup and breakdown as needed.
- Properly use and store cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Operate different types of vehicles, including pickup trucks, utility vehicles and trailers. Unload and load equipment from trucks and vehicles.
- Responsible for maintaining stock of both cleaning supplies and paper products for venue restrooms, and communicating with supervisors when supplies need ordering.
- Adhere to event safety standards through crowd management training (provided).
- Responsible for responding to and communicating incidents and emergency situations, including, but not limited to: First Aid, severe weather, and missing child events.
- Provide support to all facets of the events and recreation operations as assigned by supervisors.
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Environment/Physical Activities:
- Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Exposure to sun, heat, cold, dust, precipitation, fuel, grease, trash and other conditions and chemicals commonly found in an events and recreation environment.
- Must be capable of operating a variety of equipment, hand, cleaning and power tools. Must be capable of safely operating and maneuvering vehicles and equipment.

While performing the duties of this job, the individual regularly works in outside-weather conditions. The individual frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The individual occasionally works in high, precarious places. The individual is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and may experience the risk of electrical shock.
The noise level in the work environment ranges from quiet to very loud. Must be able to work in a loud noise environment for extended periods of time. Must be able to wear a radio earpiece during shifts. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate a computer, various pieces of equipment, tools, and vehicles.
While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. The individual frequently is required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The individual is also required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and smell.
The individual must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, preferably unassisted, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Equipment Used: Motorized vehicles and equipment, common hand and power tools, shovels, wrenches, mobile radio, phone, timekeeping and scheduling software, cleaning supplies and tools.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Exceptional customer service skills required.
- Self-motivated, innovative team player who can also work well individually.
- Ability to communicate in a professional, courteous and timely manner, both verbally and in writing, when dealing with Town of Dillon employees, citizens, guests, customers, participants and vendors.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with peers, supervisors, and other departments and agencies.
- Ability to respond to emergencies calmly and efficiently.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to function and make good decisions in the absence of a supervisor.
- Valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
- Previous manual labor and cleaning experience preferred.
- Ability to lift, push and pull 50 pounds.
- Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks and assignments and meet deadlines.
- CPR/AED and First Aid Certification are preferred. Training provided.
- Ability to perform manual tasks for extended periods of time.
- Ability to speak and understand the English language proficiently.
- Must have a flexible schedule and willingness to work days, nights, weekends, early mornings, late hours and holidays.
- Submission to a background check.
